「Japanese politics in comparison to British politics and too in global perspective」
本講義はオックスフォード大学名誉教授アーサー・ストックウィン博士による英語での講義シリーズからなる。その第一の目的は英語での授業になれることにある。第二に、それ以上に重要な目的は日本政治を、しばしば手本といわれてきたイギリスの政治と比較することである。さらに、加えて、グローバル化の深化とともにすべての国家、とりわけ先進諸国が直面する弱まるリーダーシップ、経済自由化問題、高齢社会等々のグローバル化の問題群について、日本の政治がどのような対応を迫られているか、を理解することにある。
This course is composed of a series of lectures by the former director of Japanese studies at St. Anthony's College, Oxford, Prof. Arthur Stockwin. Firstly, the medium of teaching is English. Secondly it is expected to train ourselves to see Japanese politics in comparison to that in the UK, which has been regarded as a model for the modern Japanese politics. And thirdly the students are hoped to equip with good understanding of Japan in the global perspective including such problematic derived from globalization, like weakened leadership, economic liberalism, aging society and so on.
